The reservoir is shallow and in spring it is overgrown with vegetation. At low water levels, the reservoir disappears. Its characteristics are different from the neighboring Szczodrzykowo reservoir. The dike surrounding the reservoir allows for quite unobstructed observation and thanks to it the reservoir can be walked around. However, we ask you not to walk on the dikes from the side of the neighboring Szczodrzykowo Reservoir during the breeding season. In the part located in the vicinity of the asphalt road, there are the birds nest.
The advantage is the lack of anglers who "occupy" the neighboring reservoir.
In the reservoir there is quite a large colony of Mouette rieuse. Other birds that nest here are Cygne tuberculé, Vanneau huppé Grèbe jougris and Grèbe à cou noir. The reservoir is also visited by rarer species in Poland, such as Héron pourpré, Héron garde-boeufs, Échasse blanche and Avocette élégante.
In hot summer (such as in 2022) the level of water is minimal. The reservoir turns into vast puddles, and the bottom is overgrown with vegetation among which are preyed by Bécassine des marais, Chevalier sylvain, Grande Aigrette , Héron cendré and Vanneau huppé , etc.
in 2023 the tank was not filled with water. Number of birds and sightings are very limited. (see comment below).
In the spring of 2024, there is still no water in the reservoir and the situation from the previous year repeats itself - the place has lost its attractiveness and bird diversity. On the asphalt road next to the Szczodrzykowo reservoir you can observe the colony of Mouette rieuse .

Polski: Zbiornik jest płytki, a wiosną porośnięty roślinnością, która przebija sięprzez taflę wody. Przy niskich stanach wody zbiornik zanika - jego charakterystyka jest inna od sąsiedniego zbiornika Szczodrzykowo. Otaczająca zbiornik grobla pozwala na dość swobodną obserwację i dzięki niej akwen można obejść. Prosimy jednak o zrezygnowanie z poruszania się po wałach od strony sąsiedniego Zbiornika Szczodrzykowo okresie lęgów. W części znadującej się w sąsiedztwie drogi asfaltowej znajdują się ptasie gniazda.
Zaletą miejsca jest brak wędkarzy, którzy "okupują" sąsiedni zbiornik.
Na terenie zbiornika znajduje się dość duża kolonia Mouette rieuse . Inne ptaki gnieżdżące się tutaj to między innymi Cygne tuberculé , Vanneau huppé, Grèbe jougris i Grèbe à cou noir . Zbiornik jest również odwiedzany przez rzadsze w Polsce gatunki, takie jak Héron pourpré, , Échasse blanche i Avocette élégante.
W upalne lato (jak np. w 2022 roku) poziom wody jest minimalny. Zbiornik zamienia się w rozległe kałuże, a dno porasta roślinność, wśród której żerują Bécassine des marais, Chevalier sylvain, Grande Aigrette, Héron cendré i Vanneau huppé.
W roku 2023 zbiornik nie został napełniony wodą. Ilośc ptaków i obserwacje są bardzo ograniczone (patrz komentarz poniżej).
Wiosną rooku 2024 w zbiorniku nadal nie ma wody i sytuacja z poprzedniego roku się powtarza - miejsce straciło na atrakcyjności i ptasiej różnorodności. Przy drodze asfaltowej obok zbiornika Szczodrzykowo można obserwować kolonię Mouette rieuse .

Located about 30 km from Poznan. The easiest way to get there is by car and then walk around the reservoir. If you park next to the adjacent reservoir, you have to cross the road and cross the barriers. It is not difficult, but not very safe.
PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS ROAD DURING THE BREEDING PERIOD. You will enter the birds' nests!
An alternative might be to park the car on an unpaved road some distance from the reservoir - marked on the map. Click on P and get direction.
If you choose one of the two parking places on unpaved roads, you will have to walk along the field or across the field - in this case, use the technical paths so as not to damage the crops. You can cross the ditch with water marked on the map by using the makeshift crossing located there or go to the observation site by slightly modifying the road.

Jeśli wybierzesz jedno z dwóch miejsc parkingowych na nieutwardzonych drogach, będziesz musiał iść wzdłuż pola lub w przez pole - w takim przypadku, skorzystaj ze ścieżek technicznych, aby nie uszkodzić upraw.
