Especially in spring, the described area is flooded with water which, due to its excess, is unable to flow into the Rów Polski (Polish Trench). Due to frequent flooding, this area of over 40 hectares has not been used for years and is not subject to direct human pressure. It is a resting place for up to 150 Grue cendrée as well as ducks such as the Canard colvert, Sarcelle d'hiver, Sarcelle d'été and Canard souchet.
