Currently, the Nyskie and Otmuchowskie Lakes together with the adjacent areas form the area of the Otmuchowsko-Nyskie Protected Landscape Area, there are many species of birds that are attracted to the reservoir. Among the birds that can be seen are Cygne tuberculé, Sarcelle d'hiver, Goéland pontique, Bécasseau variable, Chevalier sylvain, Chevalier aboyeur, Chevalier guignette, Sterne pierregarin and Grande Aigrette.
