Dębina City Forest

The 'Dębina' natural forest park is a remnant of a riparian forest. There are about 400 over 100-year-old oak trees in the forest (some monumental ones).

Description

Dębina City Forest is located south of the city center of Poznań. Currently, about 80 hectares of total forest area are available to the public. The park occupies the former floodplains of the Warta River. The lakes in the park are oxbow lakes. Research conducted in previous years showed the presence of up to 130 species of birds in this area. Among the birds that have been observed are Loriot d'Europe, Huppe fasciée, Pic noir, Pic mar, Coucou gris, Chouette hulotte, Rousserolle turdoïde and Rémiz penduline.

Accès

The Debina area is easily accessible by public transport (bus) from Poznań. Also by car, click on a P in the map for directions to a parking. The terrain is flat and accessible on foot or by bike. In order to observe, it is better to avoid holidays due to the considerable popularity of the place among the inhabitants of the surrounding housing estates. You can freely choose the way of exploration by using the prepared paths - the drawn map is only a suggestion. You can extend the trip by using the green areas along the Warta River.
