You can explore the entire Veines peninsula and also the platform over the sea where several bird species can be observed, including Guillemot à miroir, Grand Cormoran, Cormoran huppé, Sterne pierregarin, Sterne arctique and gulls. Some shore birds as Grand Gravelot or Bécasseau violet can be observed all summer, and Huîtrier pie may nest on the beach during summer there. Inland you can spot Pluvier doré, Combattant varié, Hibou des marais, Pygargue à queue blanche and Buse pattue.
Water birds as Eider à duvet and Harle huppé and also a diversity of small birds as Gorgebleue à miroir, Bruant des neiges, Verdier d'Europe, Mésange boréale, Sizerin flammé and Bergeronnette grise contribute to the very interesting diversity. In fact all parts of the peninsula are good for birding.

By the main road you acces Veines and you park the car at the begining of the walking trail. Click on the P in the map for directions. You can walk all over the peninsula on the left when you start walking. At some point of the walk up in the mountain you will find an observatory. It is also possible from the end of the peninsula (lighthouse) to spot whales during migration.
