Description
Waterpark Groote Beerze converts the clean water from the water treatment plant into natural stream water. This is called the 'water harmonica'. The ponds with water plants, reeds and the marsh in this water park help to purify the water. This helps with the goal for the Groote Beerze to become an ecological connection between the nature reserves in the valley of the Beerze, from the Belgian border to Halder near Sint-Michielsgestel. De Groote Beerze is a Natura 2000 area and is therefore part of a European network of nature areas.

Nederlands: Waterpark Groote Beerze is een unieke combinatie van vijvers, sloten, open water met waterplanten en moerasbos. Waterpark Groote Beerze zet het schone water uit de waterzuivering om naar natuurlijk beekwater. Dat noemt men de 'waterharmonica'. De vijvers met waterplanten, riet en het moeras in dit waterpark helpen op natuurlijke wijze bij het zuiveren van het water. Dit waterpark helpt mee met het doel voor de Groote Beerze: een ecologische verbinding tussen de natuurgebieden in het dal van de Beerze, van de Belgische grens tot aan Halder bij Sint-Michielsgestel. De Groote Beerze is een Natura 2000 gebied en maakt daarmee deel uit van een Europees netwerk van natuurgebieden.

There is a parking lot along the Carstersedijk. Click on the P in the map for directions. Several hiking trails run through the area. There is a bird viewing screen at one of the ponds.
