Description
The Blokhoven water storage area is a small wetland with nature-friendly banks and a view of the town of Schalkwijk. From a high bench you can sit quietly while watching birds. There is also a bird watching screen. During the breeding season you can observe birds such as Chevalier gambette, Barge à queue noire, Petit Gravelot, Bruant des roseaux, Busard des roseaux and Tadorne de Belon.

Nederlands: Waterbergingsgebied Blokhoven is een klein waterbergingsgebied met natuurvriendelijke oevers. Een compact gebied met uitzicht op Schalkwijk. Vanaf een hoog bankje kan je rustig zitten terwijl je vogels kijkt. Er is ook een vogelkijkscherm. In het broedseizoen kan je onder meer de Chevalier gambette, Barge à queue noire, Petit Gravelot, Bruant des roseaux, Busard des roseaux en Tadorne de Belon zien.

Waterbergingsgebied Blokhovenis located just southwest of the town of Schalkwijk. Parking is available along the road or in a parking lot a 5-minute walk away in the village Tull 't Waal. Click on the P on the map for directions to the parking lot. The walk around and through the area runs partly over raised wooden platforms and is less than a kilometer long.

Nederlands: Waterbergingsgebied Blokhoven ligt iets ten zuidwesten van de plaats Schalkwijk. Parkeren kan langs de weg of op een parkeerplaats op 5 minuten lopen afstand in het dorp Tull 't Waal. Klik op de P in de kaart voor een routebeschrijving naar de parkeerplaats. De wandeling om en door het gebied heen loopt deels over verhoogde houten vlonders en is minder dan een kilometer lang.
