Description
The Verdronken Bos is a recreational forest that has been (re) designed as a water storage facility. It is intended to be able to store water in case of too much rainfall. The trees that were here cannot withstand too high a water level and are dead. Among the birds you can see here are Gorgebleue à miroir, Bouscarle de Cetti, Grèbe castagneux, Pic épeiche, Pic vert and Bruant des roseaux.

Nederlands: Het Verdronken Bos is een recreatiebos dat als waterberging is (her)ingericht. Het is bedoeld om water te kunnen bergen bij te veel neerslag. De bomen die hier stonden kunnen niet tegen een te hoge waterstand en zijn afgestorven.

You can walk through the area via a raised path on a platform and explore the area. You can walk up and down to the Verdronken Bos from the parking lot on the Kaaidijk (Click on the P in the map for directions). But you can also do the 5.6 km circular walk shown on the map.

Nederlands: Je kunt via een verhoogd pad over een vlonder door het gebied lopen en zo het gebied verkennen. Je kunt vanaf de parkeerplaats aan de Kaaidijk (Klik op de P in de kaart voor een routebeschrijving) op en neer lopen naar het Verdronken Bos. Maar je kunt ook de rondwandeling van 5,6 km maken die op de kaart is afgebeeld.
