Description
Between the bridges is an inlet that is connected to the tides of the Hollandsch Diep and therefore the mudflats become exposed every day. Hundreds of Barge à queue noire and other waders forage on these mudflats during migration. At high tide, hundreds of ducks and swans stay in the area. A big advantage of the area is that it is very varied, so you also have a nice overview of the river in addition to checking mudflats. In winter this is a good place for, for example, Harle huppé (always difficult inland) and Garrot à oeil d'or.

Nederlands: Tussen de Moerdijkbruggen ligt aan de Zuid-Hollandse kant, tegen de Biesbosch nog een vrij onderbevogeld gebiedje. Tussen de bruggen ligt een inham die in verbinding staat met het Hollandsch Diep en hierdoor iedere dag droog komt te vallen. Op deze slikplaten foerageren in de trektijd honderden Barge à queue noire's en andere steltlopers. Bij hoogwater verblijven honderden eenden en zwanen in het gebied. Een groot voordeel van het gebied is dat het erg afwisselend is, zo heb je naast het checken van slikplaten ook een mooi overzicht over de rivier. 's winters is dit een goede plek voor bijvoorbeeld Harle huppé (altijd lastig in het binnenland) en Garrot à oeil d'or.
