Trektelpost Breskens is a bird migration observation post. When there is an easterly wind, birds migrating north are often driven first against the French, then the Belgian and finally the Dutch coast, after which they cross the Western Scheldt. The mouth of the Western Scheldt near Breskens is a choice point for northward migrating birds as to whether they continue their migration in an eastward direction overland or whether they cross the Western Scheldt and continue their way north. In the spring you can sometimes see unprecedented bird migration in this place. In April and May, gigantic numbers can pass at Breskens, such almost 400,000 Pipit farlouse on April 15, 2003. On good days you can see Loriot d'Europe and Héron pourpré flying over the beach, while Milan royal and Milan noir fly along the dike. Especially with an easterly wind, high numbers of migratory birds can pass. Particularly day-migrators such as swallows, wagtails, pipits and larks, but also birds of prey, such as Buse variable, Bondrée apivore and Faucon hobereau.

Nederlands: Trektelpost Breskens in Zeeuws-Vlaanderen is een bijzondere vogelkijkplek. Bij oostelijke wind worden noordwaarts trekkende vogels vaak eerst tegen de Franse, daarna de Belgische en ten slotte de Zeeuws-Vlaamse kust gedreven, waarna ze de Westerschelde oversteken. De monding van de Westerschelde ter hoogte van Breskens vormt voor noordwaarts trekkende vogels een keuzepunt of zij de trek in oostwaartse richting over land voortzetten of dat zij de Westerschelde oversteken en hun weg in noordelijke richting vervolgen. In het voorjaar kun je op deze plek soms ongekende vogeltrek zien. In april en mei kunnen bij Breskens gigantische aantallen passeren, zoals bijvoorbeeld bijna 400.000 Pipit farlouse op 15 april 2003. Op goede dagen kun je Loriot d'Europe en Héron pourpré over het strand zien vliegen, terwijl Milan royal en Milan noir langs de dijk vliegen. Vooral dus bij oostenwind kunnen hoge aantallen trekvogels passeren. Met name dagtrekkers zoals zwaluwen, kwikstaarten, piepers en leeuweriken, maar ook roofvogels, zoals Buse variable, Bondrée apivore en Faucon hobereau.
