Description

The mussel beds in this part of the Wadden Sea are a good feeding ground for birds like Eider à duvet , Grèbe à cou noir and, in winter, Plongeon catmarin and/or Guillemot de Troïl . When you're lucky, you may find a Grèbe esclavon or a Grèbe jougris between the numerous Grèbe à cou noir , that gather here after the breeding season.

Nederlands: Dit gebied, dat 's middags het best bezocht kan worden vanwege de lichtomstandigheden, herbergt vaak interessante (overwinterende) zeevogels. De mosselbanken in dit deel van de Waddenzee zijn een goede voedselplek voor vogels als Eider à duvet, Grèbe à cou noir en in de winter Plongeon catmarin en / of Guillemot de Troïl. Als je geluk hebt, vind je misschien een Grèbe esclavon of een Grèbe jougris tussen de talrijke Grèbe à cou noir, die hier na het broedseizoen samenkomen.

Accès

There is a parking lot along the IJsdijk and a maintenance road as well as a staircase going over the dike. Most of the birds can easily be seen from the dike. In winter, it may be interesting to search the outer rocks for Pipit maritime and Bruant des neiges.

Nederlands: Er is een parkeerplaats langs de IJsdijk en een onderhoudsweg en een trap over de dijk. De meeste vogels zijn vanaf de dijk goed te zien. In de winter kan het interessant zijn om in de buitenste rotsen te zoeken naar Pipit maritime en Bruant des neiges.

The Wadden Sea can be quite choppy, but the grebes can still be there. It may be worthwhile to take an extra good look.
