Description
The Nieuwe Dordtse Biesbosch is a new, varied nature and recreation area that is developing into a marsh-like landscape and a natural connection between Sliedrechtse Biesbosch and Brabantse Biesbosch. Most paths run straight through nature and you can roam freely in a few places. There are boardwalks and lookout points and you walk along open water, extensive reed beds, moist grasslands and groves where many birds can be found. Among the birds you can see in the area are Spatule blanche, Busard des roseaux, Sarcelle d'été, Gorgebleue à miroir, Rossignol philomèle, Martin-pêcheur d'Europe, Bouscarle de Cetti, Avocette élégante, Grèbe à cou noir and many kinds of ducks, geese, gulls, waders and reed birds.

Nederlands: De Nieuwe Dordtse Biesbosch is een nieuw gevarieerd natuur- en recreatiegebied dicht bij de stad Dordrecht. Het gebied ontwikkelt zicht tot een Biesboschachtig landschap met een duurzaam, robuust watersysteem als basis. De natuur- en recreatiehectares lopen in elkaar over. Het is een natuurverbinding tussen Sliedrechtse Biesbosch en Brabantse Biesbosch. De meeste paden lopen dwars door de natuur en je mag er op enkele plekken vrij struinen. Er zijn vlonderpaden en uitkijkpunten en je loopt langs open water, uitgestrekte rietvelden, vochtige graslanden en bosschages waar veel vogels te vinden zijn.

There are several parking spaces in the area. Click on a P in the map for directions. There are several marked hiking trails through the area. But in some parts you can also roam freely. The area is also well suited to explore by bicycle.
