Description
Merjedobbe is a nice lake for bird watching with good water quality and suitable depth, largely lined with reeds. The area around the lake is rough and is grazed by horses, cattle and goats. This beautiful bird-rich lake has a lookout hill and birding screen on the north side. In the winter half year there are almost always Fuligule morillon, Canard souchet, Fuligule milouin, Canard siffleur, Garrot à oeil d'or, Harle piette, Canard pilet, Grèbe huppé, Grèbe castagneux, Oie cendrée and Grand Cormoran. In the reeds Héron cendré, Grande Aigrette, Butor étoilé and Râle d'eau. In spring Mouette pygmée and various types of terns such as Sterne pierregarin and Guifette noire migrate through the area.

Nederlands: Merjedobbe is een leuke plas om vogels te kijken met goede waterkwaliteit en geschikte diepte grotendeels voorzien van rietrandje. Het terrein rondom de plas is verruigd en wordt begraasd door paarden, runderen en geiten. Deze mooie vogelrijke plas heeft aan de Noordzijde een uitkijkheuvel en vogelkijkwand. Bij het hek aan de zuidwest kant heeft men het beste zicht met de zon achter. In het winterhalfjaar zitten er altijd wel Fuligule morillon, Canard souchet, Fuligule milouin, Canard siffleur, Garrot à oeil d'or, Harle piette, Canard pilet, Grèbe huppé, Grèbe castagneux, Oie cendrée en Grand Cormoran. In de rietkraag Héron cendré, Grande Aigrette, Butor étoilé en Râle d'eau. In voorjaar trekken Mouette pygmée en diverse soorten sterns zoals Sterne pierregarin en Guifette noire over / langs.

There are parking spaces to the northwest and northeast of the lake. Click on a P in the map for directions. The area can already be seen from the road on the west side. The area can only be entered on foot. Note: keep your distance from grazing cattle.
