In the middle of Landgoed Nienoord is a family park, which you can walk around. The first part of the walking route runs along the water of the Leekster Hoofddiep. Then you walk along the edge of the family park to the forest consisting of beech trees. You walk through the hay meadow to the forest. You walk back to the starting point past the deer park and the National Carriage Museum. Among the birds you can encounter on the route are Cigogne blanche, Martin-pêcheur d'Europe and Pic vert.

Nederlands: Rondwandeling over Landgoed Nienoord, een landgoed in Leek, dat vooral bekend is van de voormalige borg Nienoord. Temidden van het landgoed ligt een familiepark, waar je omheen wandelt. Het eerste stuk van de wandelroute loopt langs het water van het Leekster Hoofddiep. Vervolgens wandel je langs het randje van het familiepark naar het bos bestaande uit beuken. Door het hooiland wandel je naar het sterrenbos. Langs het hertenkamp en het Nationaal Rijtuig Museum loop je terug naar het startpunt. Op de route kun je de Cigogne blanche, Martin-pêcheur d'Europe en Pic vert zien.

You can park on the large parking lot of Landgoed Nienoord. Parking is free. Click on the P in the map for directions. The circular walk is about 4.5 km.
