Description
The estate owes its name to the former life insurance company De Utrecht. From 1898, the company mined the vast moors on a large scale. In the end, the heathland was converted into 1800 hectares of forest and 600 hectares of agricultural land, while an additional 400 hectares of nature reserve continued to exist. Important nature areas on the estate include the valley of the Reusel brook, which meanders here. This area is called De Hertgang. Here is also the hamlet Dun, where the tavern De Bockenreijder is located.
Mispeleindse Heide is also an important nature reserve. Here lie large fens such as De Flaes, the Kleine Flaes and the Goor. They are surrounded by moist heather area. The estate has more than 130 species of breeding birds, such as: Martin-pêcheur d'Europe, Grand Cormoran, Grèbe à cou noir, Petit Gravelot, Pic mar and Gros-bec casse-noyaux.

De uitgestrekte heidevelden werden uiteindelijk omgezet in 1800 hectare bos en 600 hectare landbouwgrond, terwijl 400 hectare natuurgebied bleef bestaan. Belangrijke natuurgebieden op het landgoed zijn onder meer de vallei van de Reuselbeek, die hier kronkelt. Dit gebied heet De Hertgang. Hier ligt ook het buurtschap Dun, waar taverne De Bockenreijder is gevestigd.
Ook de Mispeleindse Heide is een belangrijk natuurgebied. Hier liggen grote vennen zoals De Flaes, de Kleine Flaes en de Goor. Ze zijn omgeven door een vochtig heidegebied. Het landgoed heeft meer dan 130 soorten broedvogels, zoals: Martin-pêcheur d'Europe, Grand Cormoran, Grèbe à cou noir, Petit Gravelot, Pic mar en .
