The Jufferswaard has a nice variety of waterfowl and shrub birds. Along the stream and near the pond you will almost always find Martin-pêcheur d'Europe. The pond has a nice variety of ducks and waders depending on the season. Really an area where you can be surprised, especially in the migration season.

Nederlands: De Jufferswaard is een mooi uitwaardengebied rondom de monding van de Heelsumse beek in de Rijn. Mooie variatie van watervogels en struweelvogels. Langs de beek en bij de plas vind je altijd wel een ijsvogel. In de plas is een mooie verscheidenheid aan eenden en steltlopers, afhankelijk van het seizoen. Echt een gebiedje waar je verrast kan worden, met name in het trekseizoen.

The area is best reached from the village of Heelsum. Here you can park on the street in various places and walk into the area via a few access roads. Click on the P in the map for directions to a parking lot. Access is possible both from the east side (Noorderberg) and from the village itself. To do this, take the pedestrian tunnel under the N-road.

Nederlands: Het gebied is het best bereikbaar vanuit het dorp Heelsum. Hier kan je op verschillende plekken op straat parkeren en via enkele toegangswegen het gebied inlopen. Klik op de P in de kaart voor een routebeschrijving naar een parkeerplaats. Toegang is mogelijk zowel vanaf de oostkant (Noorderberg) als vanuit het dorp zelf. Neem hiervoor het voetgangerstunneltje onder de N-weg.
