Description
Het Broek nature reserve (120 ha) is located between the A15 and A2 near Waardenburg and Tuil. It consists of marshy basins caused by flooding from the rivers Waal and Linge. The grounds are now kept wet with the help of a watermill. In the area you will find characteristic elements of basin soils, including hay meadows, willows, wet barren grasslands, forest and three duck decoys. This variety ensures a rich bird life, including many species of forest, water and marsh birds. In spring, the wet grasslands serve as breeding grounds for meadow birds, while in winter and spring and autumn the lower parts of the pond attract many waders, ducks and geese, such as groups of Barge à queue noire, Courlis cendré, Sarcelle d'hiver, Canard siffleur and Oie rieuse. There is always a chance of special bird species.

Nederlands: Natuurgebied ’t Broek (120 ha) is gelegen tussen de A15 en A2 nabij Waardenburg en Tuil. Het bestaat uit drassige komgronden ontstaan door overstromingen van de Waal en de Linge. De gronden worden nu nat gehouden met behulp van een watermolen. In het gebied vind je karakteristieke elementen van komgronden, waaronder hooilanden, grienden, natte schrale graslanden, bos en drie eendenkooien. Deze afwisseling zorgt voor een rijke vogelstand, waaronder veel soorten bos- , water- en moerasvogels. In de lente fungeren de natte graslanden als broedplaatsen voor weidevogels, terwijl de lagere plasdras-delen in de winter en in het voor- en najaar veel steltlopers, eenden en ganzen aantrekken, zoals groepen Barge à queue noire, Courlis cendré, Sarcelle d'hiver, Canard siffleur en Oie rieuse. Er is altijd kans op bijzondere soorten.
