The Grote Veld is the largest forest area in the east of the Netherlands with the adjacent estates. It is a beautiful area for walking and bird watching. Birds like Pic épeiche , Sittelle torchepot , Grimpereau des jardins , Mésange nonnette and Mésange huppée can be seen here. And if you are lucky sometimes even a Pic noir.

Nederlands: Het Grote Veld is het grootste bosgebied van Oost-Nederland met de aangrenzende landgoederen. Het Grote Veld bestaat voornamelijk uit bos met naald- en loofbomen en daartussen een aantal verspreide heidevelden. Het is een prachtig gebied om te wandelen en vogels te kijken. Vogels als Pic épeiche, Sittelle torchepot, Grimpereau des jardins, Mésange nonnette en Mésange huppée zijn hier te zien. En als je geluk hebt soms zelfs een Pic noir.

You can park your car at Parkeerplaats Grote Veld, Heidepolweg 2, 7251 HT Vorden. Click on the P in the map to get directions. From the parking you can walk into the forest. There are many different trails to explore the area. On the map you see a circular walk of 7 km which leads partly through forest, along pieces of heath and through open field.
