Description
The Griene Dyk is a beautiful place with large areas of swampy and flooded grasslands, patches of reeds and forest. Many ducks, geese, reed birds, waders and birds of prey. Songbirds can be seen due to the different types of habitat. Many nice species such as Panure à moustaches, Busard des roseaux and sometimes Busard Saint-Martin, Canard pilet, Canard souchet and more.

Nederlands: De Griene Dyk is een voormalige zeewerende dijk met aan de ene kant weidevelden en aan de andere kant drassige weidevelden waar tal van vogels te vinden zijn. Mooie plek met grote stukken drassig/ondergelopen gebied, stukken riet en stukken bos. Door de verschillende soorten leefgebieden vele eenden, ganzen, rietvogels, steltlopers en roofvogels, zangvogels te zien. Veel leuke soorten zoals baardmannetjes, bruine en soms blauwe kiekendieven, pijlstaarten, slobeenden en meer.

Parking is easiest at recreation area 'de Potten'. From there it is easy to follow the Griene Dyk on foot (or possibly bicycle). You can also drive further up the dike by car and spot from the car with the telescope. In addition, there is a path next to the dike (often a bit muddy/soggy) along the flooded areas where you can walk beautifully (not accessible during the breeding season). There is also a bird viewing screen that you can access on foot.

Nederlands: Parkeren kan het gemakkelijkst bij recreatiegebied 'de Potten'. Vanaf daar gemakkelijk te voet (of eventueel fiets) de Griene Dyk te volgen. Ook met de auto kun je de dijk verder oprijden en vanuit de auto met de telescoop spotten. Daarnaast is er naast de dijk een pad (vaak wel wat modderig/drassig) langs de ondergelopen gebieden waar je prachtig kunt wandelen (niet toegankelijk gedurende het broedseizoen). Ook is er een vogelkijkscherm waar je te voet kunt komen.

This area is less suitable for a nice long walk because there is no circular walk possible and you mainly walk on the asphalted road on the dike. However, this area will surprise you with the enormous amount of different bird species you will encounter here.

Nederlands: Voor een mooie lange wandeling is dit gebied minder geschikt omdat er geen rondwandeling mogelijk is en je voornamelijk op het geasfalteerde weggetje op de dijk loopt. Dit gebied zal je echter verrassen met de enorme hoeveelheid verschillende vogelsoorten je hier zult tegenkomen.
