Description
Geerpolder is a surprising piece of nature right next to the Amstel where a path runs through. The first part is mainly reeds and other low vegetation such as thistles. On one side of the path is a grove where many songbirds can be seen and heard, such as Troglodyte mignon, Fauvette à tête noire and tits.
The second part of the path offers a view of several pools of water where a surprising number of birds can be found, such as many geese and duck species, but also Spatule blanche, Vanneau huppé, Barge à queue noire, Grèbe castagneux, Chevalier culblanc, Chevalier gambette and even Chevalier sylvain.

Nederlands: Laarzenpad Geerpolder is een mooi stukje natuurgebied met veel riet en stukken water / plas-dras. Verassend stukje natuur vlak naast de Amstel waar een laarzenpad doorheen loopt. Het eerste deel is voornamelijk riet en andere lage begroeiing zoals distels. Aan een kant van het pad is een bosje waar veel zangvogels te zien en horen zijn zoals Troglodyte mignon, Fauvette à tête noire en mezen.
Het tweede deel van het pad geeft uitzicht op verschillende plasjes water waar verrassend veel vogels te vinden zijn, zoals veel ganzen- en eendensoorten maar ook Spatule blanche, Vanneau huppé, Barge à queue noire, Grèbe castagneux, Chevalier culblanc, Chevalier gambette en zelfs Chevalier sylvain.

Accès
The path is unpaved and difficult to access with a wheelchair. Walking boots are recommended as it can be muddy. The best way to get there is by bike or on foot. There is also limited space to park your car. Click on the P in the map for directions to a parking space.

Nederlands: Het pad is onverhard en lastig begaanbaar met kinderwagen of rolstoel. Wandelschoenen zijn aan te raden, het kan drassig zijn. Je kunt er het beste met de fiets of lopend komen.
