In the middle of the flat, wide landscape the 'Fogelsangh State' forest is situated. There are many hiking trails. The forest is well maintained. Many birds can be seen here throughout the year. Because there are many ponds and open places, the variety of birds is also great! Species that you often can observe here are Martin-pêcheur d'Europe, Sittelle torchepot, Cigogne blanche, different types of woodpeckers and owls. Please note that the forest is closed during the breeding season, from March 15 to June 15.

Nederlands: Fogelsangh State Veenkloosterbos ligt midden in het vlakke, weidse Friese landschap. Het bos heeft veel wandelpaden en is goed onderhouden. Het hele jaar door zijn hier veel vogels te zien. Doordat er veel vijvers en open plekken zijn, is de verscheidenheid aan vogels ook groot! Soorten die je hier vaak kunt zien zijn Martin-pêcheur d'Europe, Sittelle torchepot, Cigogne blanche, verschillende soorten spechten en uilen. Houd er rekening mee dat het bos niet toegankelijk is tijdens het broedseizoen, van 15 maart tot 15 juni.
