Observatory De Elsberg is located in the Veluwezoom National Park. With a bit of luck you can spot red deer, roe deer, badgers, foxes and wild boars all year round. The beautiful area with an alternation of forest and heathland is mainly known for the red deer rut in September and October. But a walk around the area is also good for seeing lots of birds. Among the birds you can spot in the area are Grand Corbeau, Bondrée apivore, Tarier pâtre, Grive draine, Alouette lulu, Engoulevent d'Europe, Bruant jaune, Bec-croisé des sapins, Bouvreuil pivoine and in winter Pie-grièche grise and sometimes Busard Saint-Martin.

Nederlands: Wildobservatiepunt De Elsberg ligt midden in Nationaal Park Veluwezoom. Hier kun je met een beetje geluk het hele jaar door edelherten, reeën, dassen, vossen en wilde zwijnen treffen. Het prachtige gebied met een afwisseling van bos en heidevelden is vooral bekend vanwege de edelhertenbronst in september en oktober. Maar een wandeling rondom het gebied is ook leuk om vogels te kijken. Vogels die je hier kunt tegenomen zijn Grand Corbeau, Bondrée apivore, Tarier pâtre, Grive draine, Alouette lulu, Engoulevent d'Europe, Bruant jaune, Bec-croisé des sapins, Bouvreuil pivoine en in de winter Pie-grièche grise en soms Busard Saint-Martin.

De Elsberg is located southwest of the village of Laag-Soeren. Previously, you could park close to the observatory, but since July 1, 2025, this car park and the road leading to it have been closed to car traffic. You can now only park at the De Plaghak car park, 3.8 km from the observatory. From the Plaghak, you can walk or cycle to the observation post. Press P on the map for directions to the car park. Public transport: From Dieren train station it is a 7 km walk to De Elsberg. The circular walk shown on the map is approximately 9 km.

Nederlands: Observatiepost De Elsberg ligt ten zuidwesten van het dorp Laag-Soeren. Voorheen kon je dichtbij de post parkeren op parkeerplaats De Lange Juffer, maar sinds 1 juli 2025 is die parkeerplaats en de weg ernaar toe (Schaapsallee) afgesloten voor autoverkeer. Je kunt nu alleen nog maar parkeren op parkeerplaats De Plaghak op 3.8 km van de oberservatiepost. Vanaf de Plaghak kun je naar de observatiepost wandelen of fietsen. Druk op P in de kaart voor een routebeschrijving naar de parkeerplaats. Openbaar vervoer: Vanaf treinstation Dieren is het 7 km lopen naar De Elsberg. De rondwandeling rondom de Elsberg die is weergegeven op de kaart is ongeveer 9 km.
