Description
The Bleeke Heide is a fantastic wetland where there are always some birds to see. In the summer months you can see various types of ducks, in the winter months many geese, including Oie de la toundra. In the bird migration periods all kinds of migratory birds make a stop here. From Courlis corlieu to Bécasseau cocorli. It is an important resting area for Courlis corlieu. It is also a hunting ground for the Faucon pèlerin. Perdrix grise can be seen in adjacent meadows.

Nederlands: De Bleeke Heide is een fantastisch wetland waar altijd iets te zien is. Het is een vrij grote waterplas in een weidegebied met goede mogelijkheid om watervogels van dichtbij waar te nemen. De waterstand wordt door een stuw kunstmatig hoog gehouden waardoor het gebied langer het water vast kan houden en waardoor de lagere gedeelten langer vochtig blijven. Een rondwandeling door het gebied duurt 1 a 2 uur. In de zomermaanden diverse soorten eenden, in de wintermaanden veel ganzen, onder meer toendrarietgans. In de vogeltrekperiodes allerlei soorten trekvogels. Van regenwulpen tot krombekstrandlopers. Het is een belangrijk wetlandgebied, onder meer slaapplaats voor regenwulp. Het is ook jachtgebied voor de slechtvalk. In aangrenzende weilanden nabij de ingezaaide akkers met onkruidstroken zijn nog patrijzen te zien.

Note: During the winter period, rest is important for migratory birds and so the path around the Bleeke Heide is not accessible. On the other hand, you can stroll around from 15 March to 15 November and observe the birds from all sides.
