In the Beulakerpolder 109 hectares of nature have been laid out with reed land, peat bogs and open water. The area is divided into different sections that are separated from each other by so-called ribs. The height of the ground level differs from section to section. Various dry and wet nature types, such as swamp and reed land, arise in the sections. You can make a 2 km walk to bird hide Wiedekiek. Among the bird you can see are Panure à moustaches, Gorgebleue à miroir,Râle d'eau, Locustelle luscinioïde, Locustelle tachetée, Sarcelle d'hiver, Busard des roseaux, Grand Cormoran, Harle piette, Fuligule morillon, Oie rieuse, Héron pourpré and Grande Aigrette.

Nederlands: Vogelkijktoren Wiedekiek ligt in de Beulakerpolder in natuurgebied de Wieden en trekt veel moerasvogels en rietvogels aan. In de Beulakerpolder is 109 hectare natuur ingericht met rietland en ruigte, laagveenmoeras en open water. Het gebied is verdeeld in verschillende vakken die van elkaar gescheiden zijn door zogeheten ribben. De hoogte van het maaiveld verschilt van vak tot vak. In de vakken ontstaan verschillende droge en natte natuurtypen, zoals moeras en rietland. Je kunt hier onder meer Panure à moustaches, Gorgebleue à miroir, Râle d'eau, Locustelle luscinioïde, Locustelle tachetée, Sarcelle d'hiver, Busard des roseaux, Grand Cormoran, Harle piette, Fuligule morillon, Oie rieuse, Héron pourpré en Grande Aigrette zien.

From Giethoorn, take the bridge over the Beukers-Steenwijk canal towards Dwarsgracht. Follow the road Vosjacht. Continue until Vosjacht changes into cycle path. Park your car and then walk or cycle 2 km via the cycle path to the tower. Click on the P in the map for directions to the parking lot. Bird watching hide De Wiedekiek is only accessible on foot or by bicycle.

Nederlands: Vanuit Giethoorn neemt je de brug over het kanaal Beukers-Steenwijk richting Dwarsgracht. Houdt Vosjacht aan. Doorrijden totdat Vosjacht overgaat in fietspad. Auto parkeren en vervolgens 2 km lopen of fietsen via het fietspad, naar de toren. Klik op de P in de kaart voor een routebeschrijving naar het punt waar de weg Vosjacht overgaat in het fietspad. Een andere optie is vanaf de Jonenweg (zie de ster op de kaart) het Bodelaekepad inslaan en vanaf daar 3 km wandelen/fietsen naar de kijktoren. De Wiedekiek is dus alleen te voet of met de fiets bereikbaar.
