Tavolaia is an agricultural area, intersected by various wide dirt roads. During a stop of about two hours (end of June, very warm) we observed the following bird species: Échasse blanche, Bihoreau gris, Aigrette garzette, Héron cendré, Héron garde-boeufs, Ibis sacré, Ibis falcinelle, Guêpier d'Europe, Tourterelle des bois, Loriot d'Europe, Bruant proyer Circaète Jean-le-Blanc Milan noir Busard des roseaux Rousserolle effarvatte Bouscarle de Cetti and Cisticole des joncs.

Italiano: Tavolaia è una zona agricola, intersecata da varie larghe strade sterrate. To get to the area, take Via Tavolaia north of Santa Maria a Monte and follow that road until you pass the Osservatorio astronomico di Tavolaia (see map). Where the asphalt road changes into a wide dirt road, you turn right and explore the surroundings of the dirt road for a few hundred meters by car or on foot. It is a wide dirt road with little traffic and only the occasional local car. You can park on the side of the road, other cars can still pass without any problem. Click on the P in the map for directions.

Italiano: Per raggiungere l'area si prende Via Tavolaia a nord di Santa Maria a Monte e si percorre tale strada fino a superare l'Osservatorio astronomico di Tavolaia (vedi mappa). Dove la strada asfaltata si trasforma in un'ampia strada sterrata, si svolta a destra ed si esplorano i dintorni della strada sterrata per alcune centinaia di metri in auto oa piedi. È un'ampia strada sterrata con poco traffico e solo occasionali auto locali. Si può parcheggiare a lato della strada, altre auto possono comunque passare senza alcun problema.
