Description
Porto Caleri is an area of beaches, coastal pine forest, well-preserved dune environments and the Porto Caleri Coastal Botanical Garden of 44 hectares. You can observe bird species that nest on the beach such as the Gravelot à collier interrompu. Other birds you can encounter are Engoulevent d'Europe, Flamant rose, Courlis corlieu, Courlis cendré, Grèbe esclavon, Huîtrier pie and Barge rousse. Observation points on both the sea and lagoon sides.

The Botanical Garden is located at the end of the coastal road from Rosolina Mare down to Porto Caleri. Free parking nearby. Click on a P in the map for directions. Best to explore the area on foot. The Porto Caleri botanical garden is open from March to November and not accessible in winter (see more info below). The rest of the site with its paths is open all year round.

The Porto Caleri botanical garden is open from March to November. Entrance ticket € 3.50. Opening times April, May, September and October: Thursdays, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm and from 3.00 pm to 6.00 pm. June, July and August: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday and holidays from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm and from 4.00 pm to 7.00 pm.
