Laguna Veneta near Jesolo

The part of the lagoon that is located on the north-west side of Venice is a great place for birding. A very nice wetland full of waders and waterbirds.

Description

There are many species that can be observed in the laguna Veneta all seasons of the year. For some years there are also Flamant rose breeding. Other special birds you could see here are Faucon pèlerin, Rollier d'Europe, Coucou geai, Tadorne casarca, Fuligule nyroca, Héron garde-boeufs and Courlis cendré. A total amount of over 450 thousand waterfowl live throughout the lagoon. And today there are more than 8,000 Flamant rose that winter in the lagoon.
