Description
The area includes corn and wheat fields, with scattered areas of bushes and woods. Its open viewing angle makes this area optimal for observations, both for spring and autumn migration of passerines and raptors. In spring you can see tens or even hundreds of Bergeronnette printanières of almost all WP subspecies (included Sykes's, Iberian, British and Black-headed), tens of Traquet motteuxs, Alouette des champss , some Pipit à gorge rousses, Pipit rousselines and the rare Alouette calandrelle (the only regular stop-over site in the province of Varese). In winter Pie-grièche grise is a regular visitor and sometimes over-winters in the area along with tens of Pipit spioncelles, hundreds of Pinson des arbreses, Pinson du Nords but also Linotte mélodieuses and Bruant des roseauxs. Choucas des tourss are also a regular visitor and breed in the surrounding area.
