The reed bed and marsh of Biotopo Lago di Caldaro welcome an incredible variety of migratory birds every year, both in spring and autumn migration. Among the birds you can encounter are Grèbe huppé, Grèbe castagneux, Grèbe à cou noir, Pie-grièche grise, Râle d'eau, Bécassine des marais, Busard des roseaux, Pie-grièche écorcheur, Pic épeichette, Pic épeiche, Pic vert and Pic noir.

The best way to arrive is by the main street at the Southern part of the lake, but you can park almost everywhere around the lake and then continue on foot or with the bike. There is a bird observation tower from where you can lookout over the area. The circular route around the area is about 7 km long.
