Description
Bay ny Carrickey has rocky coast accessed by minor road and A5. Seals, porpoises, basking shark and dolphins may occasionally be seen offshore, otters may be around the rockpools. Birds include Bernache cravant, Canard siffleur, Bécasseau violet, Canard souchet, Faucon émerillon, Linotte à bec jaune Goéland bourgmestre, Pipit maritime, Phragmite des joncs and Huîtrier pie.

Isle of Man is accessed by air, or by ferry from Liverpool, Heysham, Belfast or Dublin. Parking at Port St Mary where there are regular buses. Or at Scarlett Point, see map.
Probably best viewed one or two hours either side of high tide when waders and wildfowl may be closer inshore (see link to tides table below).
The route marked is 7 km one way, the return journey may be made via the St Mary Port- Castletown bus (hourly service, every day) or by taxi.
