Örfirisey is a reliable spot to observe the birdlife of the Reykjavík bay. Especially in the colder times of the year. Bringing your telescope, a scan of the bay and horizon might produce birds like Harelde boréale, Cormoran huppé, Fou de Bassan, Mergule nain, Arlequin plongeur and Harle huppé. You might also see Plongeon catmarin and Plongeon imbrin. Örfirsey has also hosted a male Macreuse à ailes blanches every winter since 2014, proving it as a reliable spot for this vagrant. Overhead, Bruant des neiges might pass, and along the rocks there might be Guillemot à miroir.
