The boat trip in the Steingrímsfjörður starts with sailing around of the island of Grímsey. On the island you can see colonies of Pingouin torda, Cormoran huppé, Guillemot de Troïl and Mouette tridactyle as well as thousands of Macareux moine flying overhead. Also good chance to see Fulmar boréal, Guillemot à miroir, Eider à duvet, Sterne arctique, Plongeon imbrin and Plongeon catmarin. On a guided walk you can hike up to the lighthouse. With an estimated breeding colony of around 60,000 Macareux moine, this is one of the few tours in Iceland where you actually get to walk the island and get a close look at the birds.
