In order to reach the bird rocks of Cape Rauðinúpur, one has to leave the road 870. After a 2 km walk one reaches the rock.

Description

The hike up to Cape Rauðinúpur takes about 30-45 minutes. Different species of Guillemot de Troïl nest on the cliffs of Rauðinúpur and you can also see Fulmar boréal and Mouette tridactyle here. On the rock is a large colony with over 250 breeding pairs of Fou de Bassan.

Accès

The cape is located on one of the northernmost points of Iceland. The bird rock of Cape Rauðinúpur can only be reached on foot after a 2 km hike (one way). Click on the P in the map for directions to the parking lot.
