A track which runs Southwest from a picnic area with the Lake on your right hand side (this section maybe dry depending upon the time of year you visit) and can be exited further down the track at Limochori, Chryssohorafa or Lithotopos. One of the most productive stretches for birds and during migration plays host to an astonishing number of species. Crabier chevelu, Bihoreau gris, Avocette élégante, Échasse blanche, Chevalier arlequin, Combattant varié, Chevalier stagnatile, Bécasseau de Temminck, Bécasseau minute, Bécassine double, Bécasseau falcinelle, Chevalier bargette, Vanneau éperonné and Glaréole à collier to mention a few.

The area at the start of the Eastern Embankment track, the Meglachori triangle is worth stopping and checking out on foot, here we had Marouette poussin, Lusciniole à moustaches, Aigle criard, Aigle pomarin, Spatule blanche, Faucon d'Éléonore, Pic vert, Pic cendré, Cormoran pygmée, Gobemouche gris, Rougequeue noir and many more birds. For a circular route drive from the picnic area Southwest with the lake on the right hand side birdwatching from the car until you come to the first fork on the road approx 6Km down the track, take the left hand fork through Limochori which takes you back onto the main road Iraklia to Meglachori.
