Description
The lagoon is the 'waterlily lake' mentioned by Gerald Durrell in My Family and Other Animals. However it appeared lifeless on my September visit. The island has 3 beaches, accessible by car, and good scrub and heath habitat favoured by warblers, Bruant proyer, Petit-duc scops and Tourterelle des bois. A pair of Aigle royal were hunting over the wooded hills on return journey to Roda. Other birds you can enconter are Hirondelle rousseline, Martinet à ventre blanc, Hirondelle de rochers, Fauvette passerinette, Fauvette mélanocéphale and Fauvette orphée.
