Thülsfelder Talsperre is particularly interesting because of its waterfowl. The Cygne de Bewick and Cygne chanteur are especially noteworthy, as they can be found in larger numbers during the winter. Various species of geese can also be observed, such as Oie cendrée, Oie rieuse and Oie de la toundra. Many duck species can also be found here, besides Canard colvert also Sarcelle d'hiver, Canard chipeau and Canard siffleur.

Thülsfelder Talsperre is located between the towns of Cloppenburg and Friesoythe. Parking is available mainly on the east side of the reservoir, in the north in the large parking lot of the Hotel Seeblick or in a hiking parking lot in the far south. Press a P on the map for directions to a parking. The circular route around the reservoir that is shown on the map is about 10 km.
