Description

The Silbersee is located near Engers near the Rhine, in the Urmitzer Werth nature reserve. The lake is 112 hectares, the maximum depth is 13.5 m. Originally the lake was a gravel pit and was gradually renatured. After the renovation, numerous birds found their home here. You can find bird hides and there is a circular walk around the lakes.

By car you drive on the B9 to the Bobenheim-Roxheim exit. Now follow the signs to “Silbersee”. Park by the church at Bobenheim - Roxheim and Cross the road and along the track to the lakes. Several circular routes of various lengths lead from the parking lot around both the nature reserves and the Silbersee. The paths are partly asphalted but also graveled, but suitable for wheelchair users and cyclists. Depending on the tour, you can plan between one and three hours. The route that is shown on the map below is about 6 km.
