Description
The Pätzer Plan is a large open space that is used for agriculture. The area is a mix of meadows and arable land. In the back there is also a small wetland. In winter, these areas are used as winter quarters for migratory birds such as Grue cendrée, Oie cendrée and Vanneau huppé. In summer there is a good chance of seeing Pie-grièche écorcheur, Bécassine des marais or Huppe fasciée. Other birds you can encounter in the area are Busard des roseaux, Faucon crécerelle, Buse variable, Buse pattue, Pie-grièche grise and Milan royal.

The place is easy to reach by car. Parking at the Haus des Waldes, click on the P in the map for directions. It is also possible to reach the area by bicycle (from the train station “Bestensee”) and there is also a bus that stops in front of the Pätzer Plan.
