The lookout from the Moorochse tower is ideal in the morning, as from midday onwards there is backlighting and therefore reflections in the water. Martin-pêcheur d'Europe regularly hunt here and the large number of Grand Cormoran make them a popular hunting target for Pygargue à queue blanche. Other birds you can encounter are Grue cendrée, Canard chipeau, Bergeronnette grise, Grande Aigrette, Canard colvert, Râle d'eau, Gallinule poule-d'eau, Cygne tuberculé and Grèbe castagneux.

The Moorochse observation tower is situated on the banks of the lake Plauer See, 9 km north of the town of Plau am See. Park at the nature center Karower Meiler. Press P on the map for directions. From the parking it is 1.7 km on foot or by bike to the observation tower.
