Description

The quality of this birding spot mainly depends on the water-level, that is human-controlled and varies from year to year and also within the year. A dike sourrounds the area and is perfect for biking, walking and birdwatching. When the water levels allow, it is a very nice and attractive place for waders, ducks and other waterbirds, especially during Spring migration. It might be the best spot for waders, in the area. Especially Barge à queue noire can be observed in big numbers, including ssp. islandica. In winter big flocks of geese rest there.
