The small lake Mindelsee and its diversely structured shores host the highest number of breeding species in the whole region of Lake Constance (Bodensee).
The Fuligule nyroca can be observed in autumn. A colony of Sterne pierregarin nests on rafts in the lake. Also Râle d'eau, Milan noir, Nette rousse, Pic noir, Pic cendré, Pic vert, Pic mar, Pipit des arbres, Locustelle luscinioïde, Rousserolle effarvatte, Rossignol philomèle and Loriot d'Europe can be observed in breeding period. In winter Butor étoilé and Harle bièvre may be of interest.

Access by public transport: There is a bus from Radolfzell station to Möggingen. Markelfingen also has a train station.
Access by car: The most convenient parking lot is on the road between Radolfzell and Möggingen: "Parkplatz Mindelsee". Click on the P in the map to get directions. The circular trail around the lake that is shown on the map is about 9 km.
