In the mudflats of Leyhörn you can see waders up close. Sometimes Bécasseau cocorli and the typical Wadden Sea waders rest here. In the winter one can look for songbirds such as Pipit maritime and Bruant lapon in the salt marshes. In the Leyhörn you can observe a large number of birds from ducks to waders, Spatule blanche , songbirds etc. But unfortunately the distance is very large. It is best to stand on the dike and observe with a spotting scope. Meadow birds including geese can sometimes be observed from a short distance on the meadows. The areas north of the Leyhörn are not accessible to the public. It is worth searching the few bushes on the Leyhörn, as songbirds can concentrate here on migration days. Active passage can also be observed here.

Park at the parking lot (identical parking lot from the Hauener Pütten observation point, also described on Birdingplaces) and walk to the Leyhörn. Dogs are not allowed in this area, neither on nor off leash.
