The Leipheimer Moos is a beautiful moorland with wide areas for Busard des roseaux as well as the rare Râle des genêts, Bergeronnette printanière, Locustelle tachetée and migratory Pipit farlouse. In the reed areas north of the border ditch Gorgebleue à miroir likes to sing, in the cattle pastures Tarier pâtre and along the boardwalk circuit (the boardwalk itself is unfortunately closed) Torcol fourmilier, Rossignol philomèle, Bécassine des marais, Vanneau huppé, Fauvette grisette, Coucou gris, Faisan de Colchide and Pic noir can be heard or seen.
Also worth a visit in autumn/winter when there are Busard Saint-Martin, Pie-grièche grise, Hibou des marais, Oie rieuse and Grue cendrée.

The Leipheimer Moos is located in north of the town of Günzburg. The area is perfect to explore by bike and on foot. You can park your car south of the area at the Herdweg parking area in Leipheim. Click on the P in the map for directions to the parking. The Herdweg area provides convenient access to the moor and its hiking trails.
