Small lake with some nice water reservoirs, reeds and fields next to it. Nice to visit in winter to see for example Bécassine sourde or Bruant des roseaux.

Description

The Langwieser See is a small lake. The lake itself isn't very good for birding, but sometimes you can spot Martin-pêcheur d'Europe there. In the reed area about 100 meters east of the lake, in winter you can see for example Bruant des roseaux and sometimes also Râle d'eau. In summer it's full of Rousserolle effarvatte. West to the lake, there are nice water reservoirs, which in winter often contain Bécassine sourde (best to spot with a thermal imaging camera), and sometimes Bécassine des marais.

South to the reservoirs, there is a smal bush land with Bruant jaune, Chardonneret élégant and in winter often Pinson du Nord. In the gardens and trees along the small stream you can find Tarin des aulnes in winter and Rougequeue à front blanc and Fauvette grisette in summer. Sometimes you can also hear a Rossignol philomèle here.

Very good are the fields around the whole area. During migration you can see Pipit farlouse, Rousserolle verderolle, Tarier pâtre (sometimes also staying over winter), Autour des palombes, Traquet motteux, Bergeronnette printanière, Fauvette babillarde and rarely Torcol fourmilier, Vanneau huppé and Busard Saint-Martin. All year round you will find Linotte mélodieuse, Alouette des champs, Héron cendré and Faucon crécerelle. Sometimes you can also see Perdrix grise, Épervier d'Europe or Faucon pèlerin.
