The Kolksee is a pond along the river Kinzig where Martin-pêcheur d'Europe can be found. Among the other birds you can spot on the lake and in the surrounding area are Grand Cormoran, Ouette d'Égypte, Mésange bleue, Canard colvert, Cigogne blanche, Héron cendré and Bergeronnette grise.
