Hedwigenkoog is essentially quite similar to other coastal areas. Accordingly, typical waders and waterfowl can be expected here. The fields are particularly interesting from mid-August to mid-September during the migration period of the Pluvier guignard. These use the largely obstacle-free area as a resting place almost every year.
