The Hainberg is an open area, but also partly covered with forest. Bird watching here is most worthwhile in summer, when Pie-grièche écorcheur, Loriot d'Europe, Cincle plongeur, Pic mar, Pic noir, Rougequeue à front blanc and Torcol fourmilier can be seen. At the small pond and the river you can watch Martin-pêcheur d'Europe as well as geese, ducks and Grand Cormoran in the forest. And of course other typical forest birds.
