Description
The Bordelumer Heide with its many habitats ranging from spruce forests and little ponds to heathland, provides a home to different bird species. In the forest you can find birds such as Gobemouche gris, Mésange huppée and Grimpereau des bois. The ponds and the surrounding reed are habitats for Rousserolle effarvatte, Oie cendrée and Martin-pêcheur d'Europe. Where the area is more open you can hear Pipit des arbres sing in spring. Coucou gris, Bruant jaune, Sizerin cabaret and Tarier pâtre are also breeding in the heath areas. A Faucon pèlerin breeds near by in the radiotower. Sometimes Pygargue à queue blanche are flying over the area to hunt at the coastline.

The nearest trainstation is located in Langenhorn. From there it is possible to walk but it is more convenient to take a bike. There are parkingplaces along the mainroad from where you can access the area by foot. Click on a P in the map for directions. The circular route on the map is about 5 km.
