Description

Bensersiel is an area where at high tide, the birds crowd in a small area and particularly close to the path. They are well accustomed to passers-by, so the birds rarely show flight behavior. Large flocks of gulls are usually found here (especially Goéland cendré and Mouette rieuse) as well as Huîtrier pie. Occasionally there are also larger groups of Pluvier argenté, Barge rousse or Bécasseau variable. Geese also rest here occasionally. In addition to Oie cendrée, Bernache cravant also stay here in the winter months. The spot concentrates on practically one point, so that no long hike is necessary or possible and is particularly worthwhile in combination with other observation points, e.g. at Neßmersiel, Neuharlingersiel or similar.
