Description
At the river Ahr are breeding Petit Gravelot and Martin-pêcheur d'Europe. In the floodplains are meadows, forests and a little reedbed. In the meadows are breeding Chevêche d'Athéna (10 territories in 2020). Pie-grièche écorcheur and Locustelle tachetée are possible breeding birds. In the forests are breeding Rossignol philomèle , Loriot d'Europe and Pic mar. You can also see Milan noir and Faucon hobereau during breeding time. In the little reedbed are Rousserolle effarvatte and Rousserolle verderolle (also common next to the Ahr). Hypolaïs polyglotte and Hypolaïs ictérine can also be found in the area.
During migration, you can see migratory birds like Balbuzard pêcheur and Chevalier culblanc. In winter you can see some wintering birds like Cincle plongeur.

There is a train station in Linz (direct connections to Cologne and Koblenz), from where you have to cross the Rhine with the ferry to Kripp. Another train station is in Sinzig (direct connections to Bonn and Koblenz) from where you can go directly to the meadows at the southern edge of the area.
You can park in Kripp (follow the B9 until Kripp). The walking route you see on the map is about 7 km.
